Florida law (F.S. 1011.60(2)) requires private school students to complete 180 days of school attendance each school year.
As a Florida private umbrella school, Vineyard of Faith Academy serves families who provide parent-directed education in the home. Learning takes place through daily instruction, educational activities, hands-on experiences, field trips, reading, projects, and other meaningful learning opportunities.
Parents are responsible for ensuring their student completes the required 180 days of attendance each school year and should maintain an attendance record for their personal files. By faithfully providing a consistent educational program, Vineyard of Faith Academy families remain in compliance with Florida's compulsory attendance requirements.
Yes. Vineyard of Faith Academy requires each enrolled student to complete one nationally norm-referenced achievement test each school year as part of our enrollment expectations.
Accepted assessments include, but are not limited to:
California Achievement Test (CAT)
Stanford 10
Other nationally norm-referenced achievement tests approved by Vineyard of Faith Academy
Many families using Florida scholarship programs, including Step Up for Students, may already have access to approved testing options through their scholarship provider.
Annual testing provides families with a valuable snapshot of their student's academic progress while helping the Academy encourage educational accountability and growth. Parents are responsible for arranging the assessment and submitting proof of completion by the Academy's annual deadline.
Vineyard of Faith Academy reserves the right to approve additional nationally norm-referenced achievement tests that meet the Academy's annual assessment requirement.
Keeping attendance is simple and can be done in whatever way works best for your family. Here are a few easy options:
Purchase a printed attendance record book.
Print a one-page school year calendar and mark each day your student completes instruction.
Use a digital calendar (such as Google Calendar or another calendar app) to record school days.
Keep a simple planner or notebook dedicated to your student's attendance.
Mark off each completed school day until you reach the required 180 days for the school year.
Choose the method that best fits your family's routine. The goal is to maintain a clear and accurate record of your student's attendance for your personal files.

Vineyard of Faith Academy operates as a private umbrella school, serving families who provide a parent-directed education in the home. We accept all students in grades K-12.
If your child is currently enrolled in a public or private school: You will need to formally withdraw your student from their current school according to that school's withdrawal procedures.
If you are currently registered with your Florida school district as a home education program: You must submit a Notice of Termination to your district's superintendent's office to close your home education program.
If your child is entering school for the first time (Kindergarten or otherwise has not previously been enrolled): No additional notification is typically required before enrolling with Vineyard of Faith Academy.
If you have questions about your specific situation, Vineyard of Faith Academy is happy to help guide you through the enrollment process.
A copy of your child's birth certificate (or other acceptable proof of age).
A copy of your child's Florida Certificate of Immunization or a valid exemption, if applicable.

To make attendance tracking simple, Vineyard of Faith Academy provides families with an attendance calendar in the Welcome Packet. Families are also welcome to use an attendance book, planner, digital calendar, or another method that clearly documents completed school days.
If you have questions about any required documentation, we are happy to assist you throughout the enrollment process.
1. Enroll in a Florida Private School (Umbrella School)
Under Florida Statutes, F.S. 1002.42 (Private Schools), parents may enroll their child in a registered Florida private school that offers a parent-directed, home-based educational program. Families follow the policies and procedures established by the private school. Vineyard of Faith Academy is a Florida private umbrella school operating under this option.
2. Establish a Home Education Program
Under Florida Statutes, F.S. 1002.41 (Home Education Programs), parents may establish a home education program by filing a Notice of Intent with their local school district superintendent, maintaining the required portfolio of records, and submitting an annual educational evaluation using one of the evaluation methods permitted by law.
3. Establish a Private Tutoring Program
Under Florida Statutes, F.S. 1002.43 (Private Tutoring Programs), students may receive instruction from a private tutor who meets the qualifications established by Florida law.
Each of these educational options satisfies Florida's compulsory attendance requirements when all applicable state laws and procedures are followed.
Starting your home education journey can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to do it alone. Vineyard of Faith Academy is here to provide guidance, encouragement, and administrative support as you begin your family's Christ-centered educational journey.
If you're unsure which Florida educational option is right for your family, we'd be happy to answer your questions and help you understand your choices before you enroll.
Our administrative school year runs from August through July, with annual records, attendance, and required documentation typically finalized during the months of May through July in preparation for the upcoming school year.
Students who enroll after the school year has begun will simply complete the enrollment process based on their individual start date and transfer records, if applicable.
For graduating seniors, final records and graduation documents are processed as each student successfully completes their graduation requirements. Whenever possible, senior records are finalized between May and July to align with the close of the Academy's administrative school year.
If you have questions about enrolling mid-year, we'd be happy to help make your transition as smooth as possible.
Yearly Graduation Ceremony coming soon!
We will update our families when this becomes available.

A student's cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) is calculated on a 4.0 scale using all eligible high school credit-bearing courses completed through Vineyard of Faith Academy. The GPA is recorded on the student's official transcript and may be used to determine graduation eligibility, academic honors, and other recognitions.
We encourage students to pursue excellence in both character and scholarship. While grades measure academic achievement, we also strive to cultivate integrity, responsibility, diligence, and a lifelong love of learning as students grow in their relationship with Christ.
